We are going to fry an assortment of things tomorrow for the Superbowl. We have a turkey fryer and peanut oil, but we also have a personal fryer. I want to fry stuff like twinkies, snickers, etc. Just random fun things.

Peanut oil is usually recommended for deep frying, as it has a high smoke point and little taste to be transferred to the food.
Don’t put chocolate, like the Snickers, in the fat. It will melt and sputter, possible starting a fire.

Okay here are my tips:
When frying 350 is the magic number.
You don’t want anything wet with water/juice inthe fryer. So if you make your own chips or fries get them very dry. I pat mine down with a clean dish rag.
When frying foods that have a batter (wet vs dry crumps or flour etc…) wipe the tip of the food on the edge of the bowl. Then put the dipped item in the fryer. Hold the food in the oil for about 10 seconds until there gets to be a bit of a crust. This help to keep it from sticking to the bottom of the fryer and the coils.
For the most part, when something floats it is done.

if youre frying chocolate make sure it is in a think batter, try battered pineapple rings, bananas and apples then cover in maple syrup and sesame seeds.
