Frying foods: Does anyone have any tips on frying foods? Oils, times, safety measures?

The Goose asked:

We are going to fry an assortment of things tomorrow for the Superbowl. We have a turkey fryer and peanut oil, but we also have a personal fryer. I want to fry stuff like twinkies, snickers, etc. Just random fun things.

Looking for some input so no one gets sick or hurt.

Thanks.

Im gonna be frying a turkey for thanksgiving (way early I know) but I have a plush backyard full of grass?

I wanted to bulid a pit with brick surround and fill it with a thin flat layer of sand to rest the fryer on. Would that be a good idea for safety reasons or are there other suggestions. Seeing as the grass will be dry that time of year.

Hi to everybody, I am an Italian girl to which it likes a lot the American cuisine. I would want the true recipes of the famous pancakes, of the marvelous Cheese cake and the recipe of the turkey for the Thanksgiving day. I ask you him because here in Italy your recipes are not found, but only of the copies. I thank a lot you for the help and I apologize me for the English!!!
I forgot… Be a fantastic country!!!!

Can I ask you a serious plucking question?

Client_u asked:

I have about 12 wild turkeys that are treading on thin ice in my back yard. Every morning, about 6:30 AM they are out grazing. By Thanksgiving, all will be in the 15-18 pound ranges, perfect for the deep fryer or oven. Whatever is left will be frozen for the next 12 Thanksgivings.

Do I need a turkey plucking machine to de-feather these meals, or, just bite the bullet and do it by hand?

My husband loves pecan pie and the recipe I tried last year turned out runny. Could you also specify if the recipe calls for light or dark syrup. Thank you so much. Happy Thanksgiving!
