Frying a Turkey help?

Where can I legally store a full propane tank for free?

I live in an apt building on the 5th floor…i have a storage unit in the building, but it is on the fifth floor too.
At the last apt i lived at, the fire department told the landlord that the first floor can use gas grills, but all the floors above have to use charcoal, because the gas is denser then air, and can leak and go down into people apartments. For this reason, i don’t think its legal to store the tank on my balcony or storage unit…
So right now its just sitting in my car (i know, prob not safe), but i don’t know what else to do with it…i don’t want to get rid of it becasue of the investment…
Anyone know what i can do? please don’t just list what you do if you don’t know if its legal…there are lots of restrictions on what you can and can’t do with gas.
